Teaching UK's Innovation Startups

The

Brief

S4S was selected by the UKs innovation agency, INNOVATE UK, to develop the core curricula as the national training for all innovation companies that received funding from the UK government for innovation. This comprised over 5,000 companies per year.

In order to determine the scope and depth of the program, S4S mapped the entire entrepreneurship ecosystem as the first phase of the program. This covered all of England and Wales

The

activities

In support of the underlying program S4S created a bespoke package of 12 x 8 hour, Entrepreneurial Skills Training workshops based on the S4S core 10Q methodology and curricula. S4S then trained over 100 trainers across the UK to deliver the program going forward. Trained trainers then began delivering the workshops to Innovate UK award winners as part of the Innovate UK SME Growth Programme.

Result

As a direct result of the engagement, Innovate UK was able to supplement their cash grants for innovation development with a comprehensive training and support program specifically tailored to the needs of young innovation startups
